The Prior Unity exercise is a playful but profound way to invoke a collective vision through creating a continuous physical connection among a group of people. People are called to the circle after invoking a great principle, like peace, unity, Light, the Guru, the Goddess, God, Prior Unity, etc. , and "sacred space". People arrange themselves  to be facing one another, but slightly staggered, and alternating each person so that one person is facing into the center of the circle, while the person next to her is facing away from the center of the circle, as in the diagram above.

This allows each person to comfortably place either of their hands on the heart of the person facing them, on both their left and their right. When everyone has placed their hands on to the hearts of the people next to them, and has two people's hands on their own heart, each person states, one-at-a-time around the circle, whatever their spontaneous response, offering, confession or vision is. Everyone who is not speaking at a given moment, is invited to simply, feelingly bear witness.
